My Hip is Bleeding 200K at Paddlewheel Inn in Oregon, IL

May 25, 2019 from 7am to 8:30pm
This route (formerly known as the Oregon Monroe Lollipop) was renamed due to its hefty climbing. There is about 6 miles of gravel road. Most of the time, it is super hard pack and quite easy - except when someone runs the maintainer on it. RWGPS estimates for climbing on this ride are way off, it's actually about 7,200 ft of climbing based on the average of many people's measurements.Because of the difficulty of the ride, we are mandating reflective gear and lights. Even though the official end…See More

My Nose is Bleeding 300K (Bleeding Randonneur Series) at Paddlewheel Inn in Oregon, IL

May 4, 2019 at 7am to May 5, 2019 at 3am
The first up in the Bleeding Randonneur series is the new 300k, My Nose is Bleeding.  It has 9,500 ft of climbing reported by RWGPS.  It also is rigged to include every nasty hill possible and relentless hills.  This should make you feel like the 300k out and back to Brest from Loudeac - even though you are starting fresh.Club members local to the area who know all the worst hills were enlisted to help with the route design.  There is at least one 40 mile section with no services.  And there is…See More

"I pre-rode almost all of the Barrington route this past Saturday and it was really a nice ride! The hills are much milder compared to the Oregon, IL 200K on 5/4/19.  Mike W and I look forward to meeting you on either of these rides!"

Barrington Boomerang 200K at Barrington METRA station

May 11, 2019 from 7am to 8:30pm
New 200k route north from Barrington on some very nice rolling terrain up to Darien, Wisconsin. This is an excellent route for those seeking to extend their range a bit and check out some new territory.  The 7:00 am start means you probably won't need much in the way of lights or reflective gear, though we highly recommend them "just in case".  The start is the Barrington METRA Stop providing both free parking and an alternative way to get home.  The first train doesn't arrive in Barrington on…See More

Oregon Monroe Lollipop at Paddlewheel Inn, Oregon, IL

May 4, 2019 from 7am to 8:30pm
New 200k route north from Oregon on some very nice rolling terrain up to Monroe.  Do a small loop out on some hills and return mostly how you came. With 5,300 ft of climbing, this is a scenic and healthy way to get your climbing game on as the spring comes on.  The 7:00 am start means you probably won't need much in the way of lights or reflective gear, though we highly recommend them "just in case".See More
