What brings you to The Chainlink?: To meet and ride with other local cycling enthusiasts.

About me:: Live in the West Loop, Chicago. Started road cycling 2 summers ago as a bucket list activity to ride across Iowa participating in Ragbrai. As they shuttled us west to the start town, via charter bus, they played a documentary of solo RAAM riders attempting to complete the Race Across America. I had never heard of such an event and recall thinking those people were nuts! Who would ride for 12-days, sleep deprived, in pain, across the country on a bike? I was also fascinated, little did I know at the time that the dreadful seed of ultra-cycling was planted in me. Three months later I participated and completed my first solo RAAM qualifying event – now my new bucket list activity to complete. I’ve met so many wonderful cycling enthusiasts in the last 2 years and look forward to meeting many more along my journey.

My first bike:: First, Fuji Gran Fondo touring followed by my Second, Cervelo S5 Aero Road.
