I got into riding last summer and look for every opportunity to get out on tours, masses, marauders' rides and other group events. Great cycling community and Chicago is a perfect place to ride for exercise, stress relief and some errands. I did a couple of Century rides last year, and I hope to do at least two this year. I just got my first ss (Thanks PJ!), and I am looking to becoming slightly less un-hip. It's a long climb.

Thanks Ian. It was nice to meet you also. I didn't mean to be a downer about my dog. She had a great life. I did have a good time on the ride (even if I didn't drink while riding) and crawled into bed at 5am. Much to my surprise, I was actually on the beach playing volleyball by 11:30am on Sunday as planned. Three cheers to the Marauders!
Hi Ian, nice meeting you today. Here's some info about the Burnham Plan ride I mentioned:
In recognition of the centennial anniversary of Daniel Burnham's
landmark 1909 Plan of Chicago, the Region Ride has become the "Burnham Plan Century - Make No Small Rides". In addition to covering NW Indiana, the ride will now include another 55 miles in NE Illinois, bringing the total amount to 100 miles. The ride will take place once again on National Trails Day - June 6th - and start at 9am in Lake Forest, IL, and conclude in Michigan City by 7 or 8pm.
Please check in at the official website for the ride:
