Michael B beat me to the punch! It's the Chitown 1/2 and 10k. I'm gonna be a cager for the race since my wife is running it too despite hamstring / sij injury. Anyone else running? Good training time for fulls and up coming 10 milers.

Picked up my packet yesterday for tomorrows 1/2 at Roadrunner store just south of Whole Foods, REI, and...boy isn't this area Cabrini Green?

No bike rack. Parked on fence, but why no bike rack?

Hm. Sounds like fun...how fast were you thinking on hitting the biking? Cause I'd be up more for a putt putt then aero bars Tri guys and gals speed.

Greg, the Tour de Fat had one of those bikes to try riding on a while ago.  It's a lot harder to ride than you'd think.

Just joined the chainlink. But now a question, where did that cool pic come from of the bike with running shoes as wheels ? I want to find a bigger version. Thanks.

Thanks. Hannah that is awesome that you went to work after a marathon. I have always used them and 50k as a rationale to take a day off! I haven't been having any problems with the walking - my quads which usually never hurt, felt super sore during all of yesterday's rides (10 miles total). KOW - they feel okay now. Yeah!

Great race, great race, great race everyone!  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day in January to do the run.  Spencer, sorry I missed you afterwards.  After I realized I wasn't getting my goal time, I went much, much slower to enjoy the view and encourage a first-time 1/2 marathoner, but my friend and I did enjoy a delicious brunch at Pauline's.  Grayn- I don't keep logs, but what I do, is just to bike, but not to the point of fatigue, so I leave earlier for work the next day with plenty of recovery time once I make it to work for time to stretch (and cry), and also, so that I have time to take my time, or to take public transit if my body is saying "no" that day.  I actually rode to work the day after the marathon too (in heels), and just took my sweet time getting there.  It actually helped with the recovery.  I wouldn't ride hard the next day though...just enough to get the muscles moving.  Enjoy!

I've relatively recently learned to ride and have been commuting by bike for about 6 months now. F3 has been my first longer distance race in a while. Today's commute was seriously fatiguing compared to typical. So my question is about the relationship between recovery, training and bike commuting - how do you as runners and riders who keep the detailed training logs integrate commuting?

Man, F3 was lots of fun. I did not see anybody from Chainlink, but saw some folks from the Scout Run club. Ended up going to Nana's in Bridgeport. Congrats to everyone who ran it!
