Seeking to foster networking between such people, and to learn of the issues effecting them. I see this as an inevitable growth industry locally, having seen it in high use outside the US, and am impressed by the individuals I've seen doing it in Chicago. If you HAVE DRIVEN a pedicab or OWN one or more please join this group.

@Todd...the requirements/regulations depend on who you ask or which officer you run into. Are you asking as an owner or a rider? For sure the biker needs a valid license, and the cab needs a city business license and working lights/parts/etc. Working anywhere in the park district technically requires a separate permit which takes years to get.

It's the season again! Do you love bicycling, meeting people, and making some great cash? Pedicab drivers are needed by established company with garage very close to Wrigley Field. We have the best rates in town... Drivers who work hard can make $500-$600 a WEEK. Valid Driver's license REQUIRED. Baseball and concert season is just around the corner. Secure your cab now for the summer, once rented people generally don't give them up because it's a great job!

any one in here ride a pedicab in the winter, and might have any gear suggestions for those who will be? anything I can do to warm the cab up when the all-weather canopy is up?

You have my confirmation that I will be there at the plaza and ready to carry the banner today. It would be an honor.

I'm planning on rearranging my schedule today to be able provide the vehicle to carry the Chicago Ride of Silence Banner. Sorry but I will only be able to make a firm determination around 10 AM.

:::Seeking a "vehicle" to carry the Ride of Silence Banner:::
Tomorrow night - Wednesday, May 19, 2010 - is the annual Ride of Silence.

This ride is a silent procession of bicyclists to honor those who have been killed or injured while bicycling on public roadways. We also ride to raise awareness that cyclists have a right to share the road.

In previous years, we have had a pedicab and a bicycle trailer proudly display our Ride of Silence banner - a white sheet with the Ride of Silence logo - as we process in silence along the route. This year's route will take us past 6 local ghost bikes - bikes painted white to honor a fallen cyclist at a crash site.

I reach out to you in hopes of finding vehicle to carry our Ride of Silence banner in this year's silent procession.

Please let me know if you will be able to help out. Thank you.
