Our next planning meeting for the 5/2 workday will be next week. The date and location will be posted here and on the main calendar of events as soon as it is finalized.

Southsiders: We have GOT TO START CONTACTING OUR ALDERMEN about the lack of bikeways in the Southland. The N. side of the city is getting dozens of miles of bike-friendly street markings installed in '09-'10 and there is diddly poop happening on the S.side. Why? Because no one is making a stink about getting them installed down here!

I was at Mayor Daley's Bicycle Advisory Council meeting yesterday and it was made clear that if you don't whine to your alderman, nothing is going to get done! So call, write, and stop by for a chat with whoever your city rep is. And do it NOW!

Hey Anne,
I've got a board meeting at Active Transportation that day and need to catch my train at 3:20, but I'll wave as I go by the trail, k?

Our next organizational meeting is Tuesday 3/24 at 3:30 p.m. at the West Pullman public library, 830 W. 119th St., close to the trail.

We have our first workday scheduled for May 2 on the trail. More details to follow.

Anyone interested in improving conditions on the trail is welcome. If you are interested, we encourage you to join the group.
