Hey all. Looking for someone to ride with this Sunday, the 26th, possibly in the rolling hills of beautiful Barrington. Weather is looking promising. Maybe a forty-fifty mile ride...14-15 mph (at times I'm sure slower due to the hilliness). I have a SUV available to me that can fit I think two bikes. Earlier start the better.

We had a ride scheduled for this Saturday but it fell through so I'm looking for more gals.

Anyone want to do a ride this Saturday???? 12-14 mile pace. Not sure of any routes so if you have any suggestions that would help.

Just want to encourage any casual-ride organizers to put their rides onto the events calendar IF they're comfortable having strangers join in. There might be folks who'd find your ride on the 18th the perfect thing for them.

I've been really wanting to do a group ride like this but decided to have people over sunday morning for an irreverent easter brunch - which is good but I want to come out to ride. Are any of you that are in the andersonville/edgewater area familiar with cantilever brakes? I want to switch out my wheels and realized I don't know how to release the brakes on my newer cyclocross bike to get the wheels out. I'd meet someone in the neighborhood somewhere if you could show me how.

That works for me. I'm looking forward to it!

Hey Jamimaria, I'd definitely be up for a ride Sunday. How about we meet at Descartes coffee shop on the corner at Lawrence. Does that work? Also, if anyone is interested LeslieB and I are planning the same North Branch Trail ride on Saturday, April 18th at 9am. I believe meeting at the same spot.

Rachel, mmm, I ride but am so not all that knowledgable about bikes. I just know that on my hybrid that I ride to work, I switched from the tired it came with to the smaller size, not as small as a road bike but pretty decent for speed. Also, I saw recently on Recyclery website that they don't have any for sale and to check out Working Bikes.

Angie, I'm near you in Edgewater and after 9 years on a mountain bike, and tired of everyone always passing me, I'm going to get a fast bike this spring. Then I'd love to jump into the faster rides. Meanwhile, any advice about what to look for is appreciated. I'm thinking of a hybrid at Recyclery or Working Bikes. I don't think dropped handles are for me because I'm attached to riding a little upright.

I'm in Lincoln Square and would like to go on the North Branch trail on Sunday. I have some other friends with I ride, so they might want to turn out too.

How does 9 AM work for a Sunday ride? We can probably see some bunnies...though I'm guessing they won't give us eggs.
