Why not cut it back? Dry the oregano and put in a jar. Then use as herb in food come fall. (not sure about the mint, but then again mint spreads like a weed, so cutting it back may not be bad idea)
NO!!!!!! Not with the heat wave coming. Transplant when it is cool and then water well forthe first few days...
I hope everyones garden survived the big storm last night. Unfortunatly the Garfield Park Conservatory was hit pretty hard. Over half of the glass in the fern room has been shattered and the desert room has also taken a big hit. The conservatory has been closed indefinitely. I know a lot of us have spent some time there and have seen the conservatory through hard times before.
Please please pass this along and if your are so inclined donate on there website.
Howard - I am pretty sure the Humboldt Parkito (community garden) across the street has tons of peppers. they are in a huge row all by themselves IIRC. It is pretty much a give/take
arrangement. feel free to stop by anytime : it is at 1636 N Richmond (1 block east of Humboldt Blvd.) call or text me or Marco (his landlord seth is the caretaker / founder) and if we are around stop by and say Hi.
Dan
Here is something for people that like to plan ahead:
I have potted up some shoots of a red tiger lily. It thought that I had killed it, but somehow it survived. It seems to growing well
It will not bloom this year, so this is for people with a multi year plan for their yard.
Here is stockphoto. Mine look a lot like this though.
I live in A'ville. PM me if interested
