Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

hmm, more cold, and less sun, but dumplings on sat.
this sun.?
Mostly cloudy skies early, then partly cloudy in the afternoon. High 36F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
inspired! Girl Scout Cookie + Beer Pairing
and rice noodle soup was the perfect ending :-)
no gusts of 45 to 50 mph this saturday! ring in the new year on the 15th Annual January Three Floyds Brewpub Ride.
more:
A strong arctic cold front will move through the area this
afternoon. A brief one to two hour period of westerly wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph is likely behind the front. The strongest winds will likely occur sometime between 2 and 5 pm. After the initial wind surge behind the front, winds will frequently gust to 40 mph through this evening.
so getting up there might not be so bad. plus, pollen counts are "very low".
