A bike n beer marathon of sorts?  Sounds fun!  

I'm still clinging to hope that the DP River Trail will be ride-able by May 11. I'm planning on taking a ride the weekend before to check it out.

I might be re-scheduling my Ride the River ride to June 15 because of the flooding.  I originally thought June 8 but won't be available that Saturday.

I stopped in at Beer Geeks in Highland In. on Tues. night. I believe I discovered the place while surfing the CBES FB page. They schedule a blues band every Tues. night which is a huge bonus for me. On this particular night it was the Jimmy Burns Band which did not disappoint......oh, and the beer selection was excellent as well. I suppose my only gripe would be the lack of session ales. The majority of their offerings were 8.5 abv and up. I am planning to return this coming Tues. for Corey Dennison.......Cheers

I'd cut over on Howard thru Park Ridge (see http://www.thechainlink.org/forum/topics/how-to-get-to-the-nb-des-p...).

The Des Plaines portion of the train is quite nice and well maintained.  The rest until Lake County is of varying quality.

I'll see if I can attend, sounds like a good time!

Hoping to join in at some point (I live up in Lake Bluff), maybe meeting the group at Mickey Finns. 

The trails are all crushed limestone. When they're wet, they have a few sinking spots and puddles. When the trails are dry, they have  occasional loose gravel. Never ideal for road bikes, but I do sometimes see 23mm tires on them. (I run 32mm without much problem)

Lake Bluff Brewing Co. has a small room, and finding seats on a saturday night might take an hour or more for a large group. They may have the sidewalk over-flow seating open by then, but not sure. Still, some great bear inside there. (not cheap though).

Event is posted waiting on approval. 

We'll figure out the best way/access point to the Des Plaines River Trail closer in. Conditions will hopefully be better by then.
