Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Bob, I won't be able to join you but if I may chime in, the Green Bay Trail and McClory Bike Path are boring as crap. I think you would find Sheridan Rd much more enjoyable and if not it's really easy to get back to the path. The section on Lakeshore Dr in Kenosha on the route below is really beautiful as well. Coming south, the DPRT is my favorite trail in Chicago area so I hope you enjoy it!

Happy riding no matter how you get there!

lake bluff would make a nice 1st stop, but lbb doesn't open until noon. maybe just a coffee at Prairie Espresso? or a hot pastrami at Bluffington's!

i like what lady google came up with: up Lakefront Trail to Green Bay Trail to Robert McClory Bike Path to Kenosha County Bike Trail, back on Des Plaines River Trail: http://goo.gl/maps/rk5waWzoj7r

so, i have a thing in Mundelein this sat.

thinking about riding one-way, via Uncle Mike's Highway Pub in Kenosha. others could ride back, to get in 200k, or there's trains from Libertyville. don't have a route yet, open to suggestions!
