Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

I am looking to do 100-110 miles on Sunday. Leaving early (7-7:30 am). Riding at my usual (slow) pace. Thinking of riding to Joliet.
Not a beer ride per se, but you could tag along. There are a few breweries near Joliet that not everyone may have visited.

sat. looks nice, though breezy. slog into the wind, to 3f or imperial oak, then fly home?

new extension was fun to try out, but wasn't easy to find. it's getting a lot of use already. nice & sunny, didn't need all the layers i started with. got a good workout. rejuvenated at northdown.

Dane and Bob, thanks dudes. I'm gonna take my taxes in to be prepared. Another time. Looks like it's going to be a nice day. Thanks again. Be safe.

Bob, see you at the clock tower at 10:30.

John, wanna meet us on the n branch trail, Devon/Caldwell? Should take use around 50 minutes to ride there from the clock tower.

I'm at Devon and thought I could meet there instead of going south to go back North. I couldn't get those links to show me on Google maps.

dane, sure, meet @ 10:30?

john, the beginning of the new extension looks like it's a little further south, at "Forest Glen Woods - Picnic Grove #1", on forest glen just north of catalpa, or 41.980925,-87.755203. google maps says 6.8 mi./40 min. from the clock tower, we should get there between 11 and 11:15.

I might like to join you guys. I could meet you at Devon or Touhy if I had an idea when you'd be rollin through.

Sounds good! Are you up for a later start around 10-11?
