Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Coming south on a Divvy came upon the 606, took it! Saw a cop keeping an eye on things. Took Milwaukee and Kinzie downtownward. I was a block away so I went to see if Binny’s was an Essential Business. It was!

Just the regular cops.

That was short-lived. I was told to get off the lakefront--which was packed.

Lakefront Trail from Monroe down to 18th was full of people, as was Northerly Island and the 606. At some level I can't blame Lightfoot for the decision but people are desperate for fresh air and some degree of normalcy.

I just returned from a ride.  All the soccer fields at River Park are occupied with teams playing soccer.

Lightfoot may close the parks and lakefront.

Looks like I'm going for a ride :P
