Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Routes on Ride with GPS, here.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Clark St and other bridges were up, creating a moat around the Loop. LaSalle St was open so I got across. Downtown was so sad. A beautiful sunny morning, and the soundtrack was sweeping up glass and hammering plywood over the smashed windows of looted stores.

@bobweiser, the Tribune also had: "The brewpub eventually will reopen perhaps in a year or even two, 'in the future when it’s safe,' brewery founder Nick Floyd said Tues. The brewery and distillery continue to operate, he said, refuting speculation that Three Floyds is being sold."

Serge what did that one say? I’ve reached the “free article limit” the Tribune uses to decrease its readership.

I have an in with a restaurant owner and she said that they are making more money with higher margins with curb-side and to-go orders only because they are saving on rent and staffs costs (really minuscule profits on restaurants - only making it up with drinks). She said she's going to be changing her business model. She'll do more pop-ups and collaboration with other business for advertising her food.

I'm guessing that's the same with brewpubs that has restaurants. However you want to view it, it's just simply capitalism for business owners.
