Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

that was exactly the problem. that bead jack looks like it's for pulling the bead over the rim. which was already done this time, but which i could use help with sometimes, is it heavy / bulky? the grabber was more like a Tire Seating Tool.

Comment by djm on February 21, 2021 at 12:29pm

Sounds like the tire bead wasnt properly seated in one area.  This can be a particular problem with certain tire/rim combinations.  Sometimes one needs to grab the tire and flex it back and forth while inflating it to seat the bead on the rim shelf.  Building up the rim with additional layers of rim tape or using lubrication when mounting the tire can address this.  Was the "grabber" tool a bead jack?
