Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

It's in then!  No pun intended!

For July 5th it'll be a lazy day.  Meet at Dryhop around 11-11:30 and head over to Revolution's tap room around 1.  I'm not sure how packed or how much space Dryhop has so this will be an informal gathering.  I won't create an event but will post here and email the group an invitation.  All are still welcome!

The ride sounds good Serge but I do think we should try to include Lake Bluff.  Especially since we missed it on my ride last month due to train schedule.

Is there an event created for this?

9 am meetup on the northside for people who want to ride the whole way, 10 AM in Wilmette?

July 20 to Kenosha: Good chance I can join this ride since you'll all be riding up through Lake Bluff where I live. Meet at Lake Bluff Brewing? Yes, it's small, but great beer and some outside seating. Metra home times are 6:49pm and 10:20pm (leaving Kenosha). 20 bikes per train.

And yes, tandems are fine on UP lines, as long as you pretend to know what you are doing.
