Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

On Facebook, here.

On Twitter, here.

Lists of breweries and brewpubs (and other beer things): on Facebook, and on Twitter.

Supposedly South Shore might start allowing bikes, probably best to hold out until then.

Comment by Adam Herstein on October 7, 2013 at 11:05am

Oh, right. I'd be interested in that.

Comment by Adam Herstein on October 7, 2013 at 11:03am

AFAIK the South Shore line does not allow bikes.

BBC (when we were there 2 years ago they had a hand-pulled IPA that had local hops; local organic hops, imported hops, (do I need to say more?). food was awesome too

Upland Brewery

  • I've been to Brixie's a couple times now. They always have new beers. I'd go back again.
  • I'm open to fish this Sat. But I need to be home by 5. And: Winds from the SSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
