Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

I might be interested in that trip Serge. Will depend on funds and vacation days.
I will restate that we should stop at Journeyman! It's conveniently located right next to Pleasant House :)
I did a ride last year including Bull Dog, Three Flloyds, Shoreline, and Greenbush. It was a looooong day, we got there 15 minutes before the kitchen closed, but we were lucky enough to have our wives pick us up in Sawyer for a lift back to Chicago.
Bring on the train!
Just filled out the survey.
Yes would love to ride out to Greenbush and of course make a stop at Journeyman Distillery on the way up or down.
That would really help with getting back from a ride to Greenbush

Not sure how much this survey helps but its about interest in bikes on the South Shore Line.
Resume!? Rode to Lake Bluff a few weeks ago on a -19 wind chill. The beer isn't going to drink itself ya know!
I'm down to check out Griffith if the breweries are good. 18th St is not far out of the way and I've been itching to go back there.
Penrose was crowded! I got there an hour before open and was about 130th in line. The wilds on tap were sold out by the time I made it to the tap room but I did get to have a few glasses of other goodies and bring the max 2 bottles home.
rich, how was penrose? we'll miss you this sat.
Was going to try to make the 12th step but alas won't be able to make any rides this weekend. Enjoy either way. And don't think of using this ride as an excuse to skip any samples Friday night! ;)
Riding out to Penrose tomorrow for their Wild V and VI release if anyone wants to join. Leaving California Park at 7am sharp and hauling ass to get there by 10.
