Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

Nice South Bend write-up Serge, Bob, Alex! (extra points for even getting out of the house on that cold day.) Happy National Beer Day to all today.

didn't want to be too dissipated before returning into the wind, then felt exposed on the lakefront, ended up going to Forbidden Root instead of Griffith. brewpub just opened last month, packed (west town isn't hammond), but lucked into 3 seats at the bar. bike computer hadn't sprung forward, so late getting home, but only 5 min.
great, where and when would it make sense to meet up?
serge, you can be an FFF-er too! wild rose doesn't open until noon, join us for a seltzer water? and what about returning together, via the new 18th st.?
this sat. 3/19? sure! compared to sun., a bit less sun, a bit less wind, a bit cooler. fine, but not shorts and short sleeves like last week!
