Information

Chicagoland Beer Exploration Society

Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).

Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

John,

I can get your bike on the road in about an hour for $40. Come see me at Lakeshore Bike.

john, dane is super-knowledgeable, but i haven't seen him around. the Recyclery and West Town Bikes both have "open shop" times.

That is my intention. ;-)

Hey guys, I'd really like to join you on these rides. However I work weekends and my days off are Tuesday and Wednesday. I'd love to go if anything is scheduled on those days. Now, question, I have a new bike assembled still in the box, I purchased it last fall and it's in the storage space. I was going to finish assembling it with a friend but or schedules conflict. Anyone here like to share their mechanical knowledge and tools? I want to learn to work on the bike and was going to do it with you tube videos. I also upgraded the crank and brake calipers so those need to be replaced as well with the assembly. In homeless and live in my car do besides gaining knowledge I really can't afford to just drop it off at a shop. Would anyone like to help or suggest someone who might, or an organization? I will buy you beers and or lunch, hopefully at a brewery on a ride for your help, time and tools. I also would need to be fitted after assembly. Thanks in advance for any help and or suggestions.

80F and lighter SW winds for Saturday.  Perhaps cooler by the lake, of course.

i assume lunch won't be at 11. i go to 18th st. all the time (which i guess is relative), so i'd be more interested in griffith breweries. from otp, the public transportation options google maps suggests are red line from 95th and ss line from Hegewisch. i'd probably just ride, it should be a beautiful day. torrence to jeffrey to LFT to home = 2.5 h = me leaving otp 3:00-ish.
