Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

only had time for 2 of the 5 stops before i had to get back for dinner, but was introduced to and really liked More, learned a new way to Brixie's, and enjoyed the holiday cheer, and the salt creek trail on a sunny winter day.
how about sat. 12/22 for the 12th step?
next weekend there are a couple other beer events: the Mousetrap Double Release on sat. and the Collective Arts Origin of Darkness Release on sun.
Pardon the short notice, but the Oak Park Cycle Club's Holiday Cheer Ride is happening tomorrow. Please join us! OPCC membership not required.
10 am Meet at Counter Coffee for proper caffeination.
10:30 - 11:15 Ride to More Brewing, Villa Park 9 miles
12:00 - 1:00 Ride to Brixies, Brookfield 11 miles Lunch
2:15 - 2:30 Ride to Buckledown Lyons 2 miles
3:15 - 3:45 Ride to Flapjack Berwyn 4 miles Late Lunch
4:45 - 5:00 Ride to Kinslagher Oak Park 2 miles
Times are approximate, but in past HCRs we've managed to stick fairly close to the times as advertised. Total miles is right at 30. Join and leave the group as you wish - don't feel compelled to do it all. The forecast is for cold temps (30) but sunny. Plenty of opportunity to warm up between stops. Both Brixie's and Flapjack has food. Pace will be casual / no drop. The route is combination of path (IPP, Salt Creek), and street. Bike decorations and lights encouraged, bring a lock and wear a helmet.
I will be there...it would be great if you would join us!
