Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

it turned out it wasn't a bump, but the opposite, a less round / more flat area. the tube hadn't pushed the tire all the way out to "set" it properly against the rim. they had a primitive looking "grabber" tool, but couldn't pull the tire up the rest of the way with that, either. the *solution* was "mounting fluid". which i'd never even heard of.
Hmm. Tube was twisted?
just when you think you've seen it all...
changed a flat and got a weird bump in my tire. thump thump thumped when ridden. deflated it, squeezed the tire in, reinflated it, no change.
the thumping wasn't a big deal, but i'm tired of falling and didn't want it to explode or come off the rim or something. so when i was out yesterday i went by turin. can any of you guess the problem, and the solution (hint hint)?
'tis the season
Yup, in front of the Adler. The Lakefront Trail was actually pretty well maintained, everything else was a slog.
nice, looks like the aquarium behind you?
Lovely day for a ride PXL_20210215_164907607.jpg
whoa baby it's challenging out there. it was a new experience to get home with my bike covered with white snow. as opposed to gray slush.
