Every member of the Society (CBES) should aspire to have a beer at every brewery or brewpub located in a day or two bicycle ride distance from Chicago (and, of course, within the city limits).
Naturally, preferable way of getting to is by bike, as for riding back . . . whatever is available, train, bus, horse and buggy, depending on amount of beverages consumed at the destination.

One last update about Howard Street Brewery: someone from that brewery responded to some comment on their facebook page, and he said they were shooting for a September 2019 opening. No exact date posted yet, when their taproom will open up.
Also speaking of new breweries, I see One Lake Brewing(at Oak Park, on the southwest corner of Lake and Austin) has now done at least their soft opening in late May. Not sure if food is being served yet, or just beer. Was skimming over their facebook page, just now: https://www.facebook.com/onelakebrewing/
Yep Jared, I also looked on the facebook page for Howard Street Brewing, and didn't see any official posts that absolutely confirmed their taproom was now open. That said, I hadn't revisited North Shore Cider Company, since they were in their 'soft opening' phase. I am WAAAAY the heck overdue to visit both there, and Peckish Pig(only done one visit there, a year or 2 after they opened?) myself!
it's a long story.
i'd like to get back in the saddle. this saturday?
