The grand old man of all Tweed Rides, London's Tweed Run has a new site up an running here! And don't forget to mark your calendars for our very own May Day Tweed Ride led by the indomitable Vulgar Lad.

Any idea what this might be?

None? Then do join us for the second BBC Tinker Night at Blue City Bicycles - Friday, 16 April around 6ish. We'll be exposing and discussing bottom brackets, the second most mysterious part of your steel steed, and cottered cranks, still the most freakin' frustrating parts...

No worries - the weather was horrid indeed %-{(> So would you all be up for an April meeting - if Master Owen is game to host again?

We could explore the mysteries of the bottom bracket and .... da-daaaa ... cotter pins!

I wish I had ridden down after work but I was very unprepared for the drop in temp.

Many, may thanks to Owen for hosting the first gathering of the BBC that actually dissected and discussed the venerable 3speed hub last night! Approximately a dozen folks showed up including old blokes like Lee Diamond or Brad Smith or Doug and new mugs like the Alewyfe or Kevin who dragged in a horribly insufficient SRAM 3speed hub! Thank you all for making this a wonderful time...

JUST A REMINDER ABOUT TONIGHT!

Ever wonder what exactly goes on inside your typical Sturmey-Archer 3 Speed Hub? Join the BBC this Friday, 18 March around 6pm at Blue City Bicycles! Sir Owen will guide us through the exploration of these mysterious and terrifying objects of British industry. Da'Square Wheelman will be delving into his own mysterious object, a 37' BSA 3 Speed Hub...

When I wanted a 28" Westrick rim a few years back I ended-up getting it in England when I was over there for a (business) trip! A friend/colleague did find rod-brake parts down in Mexico one time, too.

Looks like I'll have to miss the BYOH/BYOB shindig. Offspring is insisting on taking her old man out to dinner for his b'day.

And I had a new bottle of Laphroig to bring along.

You can find repop rims and tires at www.yellowjersey.org if you aren't too much into originality.

BTW, worlds most popular bicycle design.
