Does anyone have any fashion tips for velo-tweediness?

I went out on a shopping spree for Tweedwear in anticipation of my soon-to-be ride-able Raleigh, and got myself a jacket and pants for a cool $4.50 at the Tweed store.

Is it customary to wear a bow tie and maybe a poofy shirt? Perhaps engaging in the blousing of pants over long stocking? My knowledge of ancient blighty velo fashion is a bit sparse.

Can anyone clue me in so I don't show up at a ride looking like a Lyracryte?

Any pics?

I'll have to go down there and have a word with my fellow Tarheels.

I must say (viz. Cycles de ORO's Tweed ride photos): What is up with the Lycra Louts who come on Tweed Rides wither neither Tweeds nor British rides? Certainly, we are not orthodox but didn't they get the same memo???

I saw the clip/trailer for Geoffrey Baer's Biking the Boulevards again yesterday and I was mistaken, the drivetrain was on the correct (right) side - unless, of course, they've now corrected the video?

That's down in my "neck o' the woods". I'll have to go by that shop next time I visit the folks. Maybe I can coordinate a visit when they're having another ride.

That would be the Cozy Hearth Ride, featuring The Windy City's finest firesides ... last year we rode this at the end of January.

Expect similar timing this year!

So I'm guessing that AstroGlide is OUT of the question?

The there's the story that Nora of Uptown Bikes told me about getting a completely jammed-up 3speed hub from an older gent in Edgewater. When she opened it she discovered the aging hippy had lubed it with the thoroughly natural but rather inappropriate ... canola oil ...
