That's a bit more dear than the Britain by Bike books at 2 shillings / sixpence ;^D

Here is the book by T.H.Holding, "Cycle & Camp", mentioned in the
beginning of the program ...

For anyone with access to BBC's iPlayer, I think "Britain Goes Camping" is an interesting program - especially it's references to cycle camping at the start of the program ...

"In the late 1800s people started camping for fun on the back of a bicycle"

"T.H.Holding used his skill as a tailor to make a lightweight tent and a tweed suit that was practical for cycling and camping"

- by-the-way: I don't
think they were actually pitching the tent on top of the bicycle, and
many thanks to my Secret Santa for the Welsh Dragon socks (I think I know
who you are).

Speaking of Cozy Hearth, has a date been set?
Comment by Alan Lloyd on December 29, 2010 at 7:31am
Knarps: I had them at t'other end, for the brake lever. A road-bike brake cable has a nipple that fits the caliper quite well and the knarp is about the same size as the nipple required at t'other end, a la MTBs. Getting the length right was a chore and you have to trim all the exposed end of the cable off to fit it snugly into the brake lever.

I am looking forward to the next Cozy Hearth -is there a firm date forthcoming? I haven't seen it on the Chainlink Calender yet.

Welcome to my little Winter Project

I'm hoping this mid 60s, (formerly) green Raleigh Sports will be bummel-worthy by the time of the next Cosy Hearth Tweed Ride in early February.

And a special high-five and pip-pip to UV Metal Arts for the Worcester Blue powder-coating!

I also used a shortened spoke nipple as something to fit into the caliper slot and act as a knob so it wouldn't come out easily.  Shortened so that it wasn't too long so I could get the cable off without moving the knarp for wheel removal.
