Looks good Garth!

The Lauterwassers give it a real sporty look.  What brand of mudguards are those?  The leading edge of the front mudguard almost looks like the original tapered shape without the hood ornament nose.

I'm currently working on a Raleigh but it is an '85 USA Pursuit -upgrading everything but the frame with a modern wheelset and a 'mano Tiagra group.   It is sort of an abomination to the Nottingham bloodline but will make a nice little touring machine on the cheap compared to what it would cost to buy something similar new.  Components are all mostly scrounged used at bargain-prices.  If it wasn't for the  home-spun wheelset the price tag would be well under $300. There will be a dyno-hub in the front (so superbe if you ask me) so that kind of blew the wheel cost out of the water with new spokes and rims.   I hope to someday upgrade the frame to a 531-Reynolds Nottingham made frameset someday if I happen across a killer deal on one in the future.

Spring is on its way! Anyone got a bike project to report on?

This is a mid-60s Raleigh Sports that's been powder-coated by UV Metals and tricked out with an RIN Chainring, Soma Lauterwasser Handlebars, Brooks' Saddle Bag, & Wrights' Saddle

CIBA Valentine’s Day Ride & Swap Meet in Indiana!

The ride and swap meet will be from the Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2003 Pleasant Street, Noblesville, IN, on Sunday, 2/12.

The ride start is at noon and the swap meet will be from 1PM to 4PM. This is one of the largest events of its kind in the MidWest.

Pat Madaras will be your ride leader and Mike Inmann will be your swap meet host.  Take SR 37 north about 11 miles from I-465 to Pleasant street.  Turn left and go a few hundred yards to the fairgrounds on your left.

This is THE major swap meet for Indiana and surrounding states.  We draw vendors and shoppers from as far away as Missouri!

Admission is free to shop and browse and mingle (and ride if so inclined).  If you would like to bring items to sell tables and chairs are provided, free for CIBA members and only $10 dollars for others (future members!). There are individuals selling vintage and relatively new bikes, parts, wheels, books, posters, wearables, etc., and commercial vendors (shops) with overstocks.  Tables are available on a first-come basis, just sign up and pay at the door.  Great deals and a fun time!

More info here!

I'd say he's maybe good for $200 if the frame is straight and the full chaincase is OEM and matching the frame color.  And if the battery pack isn't all eaten up AND the Brooks is salvagable.

Otherwise not even that.

Not a penny more.

He's going to have to come down $1400 because of the missing front fender. Maybe another $50 for being way off on the date guesstimate. If I go any farther, the seller is going to have to pay me to take it.

Here's a real bargain:

Got any pics on the Twenties?

So you don't get lost ...

Compass Magnifier

You don't have to be a 17th-century explorer to appreciate the practicality and fine hand craftsmanship of this versatile instrument. On the trail or in a parking lot, the compass helps you get your bearings. The magnifying glass makes everything six times bigger - taking the mystery out of credit card chits and instruction labels.

Twenties is good condition are pretty hard to find.  If this one is in really nice shape and doesn't need any work then it is probably worth it.  Over my price range though. I'd rather find one that is basically thrashed but the frame is still in OK condition and only needs paint.  I'm looking for something in the $100 price range.  Good luck...

What the seller is calling 'silver' is actually what Raleigh calls 'Platinum', a darker metallic gray.  A decent price for a Sports in a color you don't encounter all that often.
