Nice catch, James BlackHeron, I would encourage everyone to take the Norman opportunity seriously! It's always nice to see a Tweed Ride with a wide array of Brit Bikes - not just our bottle green Raleighs ... not that there's anything wrong with that :) Also, to back up my encouragement, if any BBC members or affiliates wish to get this but don't have access to the 'burbs, I would be more than willing to pick it up for you and bring it into the City. Just let me know -

rb,

You didn't miss much.   Other than the wonderful BikeWinter art show at the finish the ride itself was poorly attended.  I didn't think it was very cold but I heard quite a few grumblers after the ride.  Perhaps my tank takes more effort to pedal so I keep warmer. I wasn't even fully layered as I left off a layer that I often wear this time of year.  It's not that cold right now.

This had to be smallest CCM I've ever attended.  Last month's ride had to have had at least 3-4 times as many riders.  There were nearly as many bike cops as there were humans -although most of them left as soon as we got out of the loop and the rest left us nearly totally unsupervised except for the SUV that tailed us the entire way.  It is sort of a bummer to know that while we are trying to save the world from gas-guzzlers there is a 6MPG truck slowly idling behind us every mile.   FAIL.

Hopefully next month's mass will be larger.  I think the snow scared a lot of people off.  The roads were totally clear and dry but the wind had a bit of  a bite to it.

We're kicking off the Ace of Clubs bicycle raffle big time in March.  See the bike at the Chicago Bike Swap, Saturday March 3.  Every dollar collected through raffle ticket sales goes directly to Working Bikes Cooperative!

I'm probably going to be at Mass this week.

I'm in Logan Square and usually ride all the way down Milwaukee to Kinzie and then in on Wells to Madison to get to Daley.

I can meet up on the way anywhere if not too far off-course, or at the Picasso.  I usually park at the SW corner of the sculpture and hang out nearby until the ride starts.   I've got a massive chrome-plated frame converted MTB tank that I usually ride in the winter.  You can't miss me.

@James- I haven't been on a mass since October. Want to meet up before the ride?

Every month!

I try not to miss mass.  Last month there were a couple hundred folks there.  It's not the huge event it is in the summer but there is a decent turnout.
