I don't think beer goes with anything. I might be the only person who rides a bike who does not drink beer. And I am sick of everyone assuming that one must drink beer if one rides a bike. Wine! There is a wine to go with everything--even pretzels and popcorn.

I agree with you that wine, also, goes with almost anything.
Red wine certainly goes with cookies, cake, beef, pig, etc.
White wine goes with hot Summer days, and anything that red wine goes with.
