I intend to use my bike this winter as my primary means of transportation. I have standard SPD pedals and very light road shoes. What do people do to keep their feet warm during the winter?

It will accept spd or road cleats, you will be warm with on pair of wool socks no matter how cold and wet it gets outside, this will be my 3rd winter with these and they hold up very well

I get by with loosely laced normal shoes with two layers of socks.  Normally short wool covered by knee-length soccer socks for anything down to about 30.  Toes and fingers are tough in the wind, which is always trouble along the lake.

I either wear my hiking boots or neoprene shoe covers.

I keep my feet warm by choosing to not ride very much in the blasted winter.

A pair of Doc Martens (leather boots keep the wind out) and wool socks if it's just cold.  Winter boots and wool socks if it's snowy.  Keeping the wind out is essential.

Are these wool socks any good?

get these socks: dahlgren expedition

best socks ever.
