and where are you?

Mine is out (near 24/Western) and it's out on the boulevard (24/Marshall) as well, since 8 last night.  I realize this is a little like asking "who's not here" but I know plenty of folks will be draining their dataphone batteries out of sheer boredom . . .

I hooked an inverter to a 12v battery to power my modem and router . . .

Power went out for about a minute last night around 11PM for us around Devon and Sheridan.
Still good in Beverly. Lights flickered but that's it. Streets inpassible though. Can't get to Western from Bell. Good luck Howard.
Our power flickered on and off a couple times last night here over by 26th and kostner in little village but thankfully never went out. Of course now that I said that...
Hyde Park is strong, though the douchebag next door who decided to pull out, spent an hour skidding up and down Dorchester and then decided to just leave his car in the middle of the street (pointing against traffic, no less!) is weak.

Of course not.

(There are a lot of guys hustling by shoveling sidewalks and the like and they descended on this dipshit en masse, I wasn't going to interfere with their well earned payday.)

We were without power from about 8PM last night to about 2PM today.  It turned on for 15-20 minutes once during that time but whatever they fixed didn't stay fixed and they must have given up and went somewhere else where they could do more good.   Might have too big of a job for a smaller number of customers to keep working on it or maybe they needed special parts they had to wait for.

It was fun snuggling under the covers trying to keep warm all night and most of the day.  I hope the power goes out again tonight! :-D

My power did not go out, but I rode past several dark blocks around 9pm last night.  Randolph and Ashland, Union Park area, amongst others.

James, are you in Logan Square?  My friends just north of Milwaukee had the same experience, so they camped out at my place all day.  I'm in south Logan, near Armitage and never lost power.  We had all our laptops, blackberries and cell phones going so we could work from home.

Yes, I'm in the Kedzie/Milwaukee/Diversey triangle. It seems to have issues all the time.  We had an outage last year that took half a day to fix -and that was in the summer.

Luckily we are a the garden unit so even without heat the temps never went below 55-degrees in our place down in the basement.  There is plenty of insulation from the sides as snow is piled up more than halfway up all the windows.

Our lights flickered a couple of times on Tuesday.  Street lights went out.  Our power stayed on.  We were grateful for that.  The grid seems fairly stable in our section of Beverly.  We've had only a few brief outages in the years we've been here.

Does everyone have power now?  I hope so.
