Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

That's absolutely astonishing, Gopher Bike.

I actually made it home yesterday without seeing a single vehicle in the bike lanes. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

Apparently the city is so awash in cash that tens of thousands of dollars in lost ticket revenue is meaningless to them.

Have you tried contacting the Dept of Finance? I have a feeling the police don't give a rat's a** about enforcement. The Finance Dept. is responsible for the parking ticket program.

Here's a fruitless exercise guaranteed to make you want to smash your head repeatedly on a hard surface. Just try to find a phone number or email for the Finance Dept. Everything on their website is oriented towards paying tickets, not reporting violations. After several minutes of clicking around, I managed to find the name of the city comptroller, but no contact information or direct phone number. WTF.
