Share your pics, videos, streets, stories of what you find in the bike lane of the non-bike variety that has an impact on your ride and/or your safety. I've decided to keep it a little more open ended - cars, snow, buses, garbage, cabs, etc. If they shouldn't be in the bike lane, go ahead and add it to this thread. Please be safe if you are taking pics or video! :-)

My hope is that we can collectively build some evidence of what we see when riding in the city with the overall hope of better enforcement of "bikes only" and improving maintenance.

Update: More Hashtags to Capture Vehicles in the Bike Lane

With popular hashtags:
#BikeLaneShaming

#LaneSpreading (Chicago Bike Selling)

#ClearTheWay (ActiveTrans), there are many options to capture violations.

We think you should use ALL of them AND post your photos on The Chainlink. ;-)

A friend of mine actually did.

Great! I'm still waiting to hear back from the Commander at the CPD Education and Training Facility about the 3 (THREE!) squad cars parked in the lane a couple days ago.

GRRRRRRR!!!!

84 E Washington.

They still don't care. I think this driver went into Dunkin' Donuts and simply parked there. Don't forget to follow https://twitter.com/84EWashington

G863437 Yesterday around 5:30PM on Dearborn. Uber.

7-18-18 NBC Investigations: "Obstructed bike lanes are becoming an increasing problem for Chicago cyclists."

Hahaha! "NBC Investigates"... I reported this to them directly and never got a reply.

How does one transition from being a cyclist to a "bicycling enthusiast," anyhoo?

Same way you transition from being a motorist to a "driving enthusiast," I suppose.

Like transitioning from a mayonnaise connoisseur to just blatantly eating mayonnaise in the shower.

Just had a chance to watch it. It was produced well, but it seemed like pretty standard/tame conditions. Parking violations aside, there's a notable absence of the road rage types, illegal turn on reds, blowing through reds, U turners, etc. I wonder if it was obvious these were reporters and drivers were being extra respectful? I guess it's a sad statement that I think I'd be thrilled if my downtown riding was that relaxed.
