What do you think Chicago's new bike share system should be called?

Here's a few ideas for starters:

Four Star Cycles

Big Shoulders Bikes

Chi Cycles

Windy City Wheels

Second City Cycles

Hog Butcher Bikes

Sweet Home Cycles

Blues Bikes

Polish Sausage Cycles

Italian Beef Bikes

Red Hot Rides

That is pretty self-descriptive!

Sure, perhaps the Handlebar Bar & Grill could be the corporate sponsor!

Rahm's Ramblers
Gabe's Gas savers

If they don't choose Rahm's ramblers for the bike share system, it would make a good name for a bluegrass band!

McBike, sponsored by McDonalds. (Not saying that I'd actually want that, but I fear that's what we could end up with.)

What's wrong with a little fatwashing for the sake of funding bike projects? Worked for the Mcdonald's cycle center!

Maybe Chi-Town Cycles?

Deep Dish Rims?

Klein Bicycles? Oops, that one's taken.

I started my own list in November 2011.

  • ChiBike (shy bike)
  • #bikeCHI (my personal favorite)
  • ChicaBike
  • Windy Bike
  • Bicago
  • Bikecago
  • Chicycle (sh-icicle)
  • Chivélo

As for corporate names becoming part of the system's name, New York City's system name is somewhat clever: "CitiBike" where Citibank is the sponsor. In Boston, the system is sponsored by New Balance but the system is called "Hubway".

Vélib'.

We could squint a little and pretend we're riding through Paris:

Rather than Chicago:

Ah Steven, always ahead of the curve!

And great minds think alike:

Your suggestion of Chicycle is very similar to mine of Chi Cycle.

Chi bike go

And then there's always:

Chic Cargo
