So I know about critical mass and the late ride but what other cycleing event happen in chicago? I'm looking to make more friends that ride. I dont live in the city but south suburbs. Every other weekend I try to just drive into the city, park and ride around downtown for a bit. I'd love to meet some follow riders to show me around and where all the cool spots are. I'm not in the city much and really am at a loss other then like the big areas around soldier field and the museum and stuff. I just got some road tires on my jamis and have been doing more distance riding then my normal trail riding with my dirt tires. So if anybody is up for meeting up and possibly riding around with me and showing me where good bars are at etc that would be awesome!

Here's one for you, but it's quite a ways north...

When? Sunday, October 4th
Time? 10:00 AM
Where: South end of the Sauganash Trail, http://tinyurl.com/mqgu5c
Bryn Mawr and Kostner Avenue
Host and mover: Alderman Margaret Laurino of the 39th Ward

Reason: to explore Sauganash and some history of the area (Ald. Laurino is a history major graduate of Northeastern)

REAL reason: to convince another alderman that bicycling is taken seriously by a lot of the city's residents!

It's a short ride, but everyone is invited so we can get a MASSIVE turnout, as many as possible, far more than Ald Laurino is expecting.
Check the calender for the aMAZEing ride- SEPT 25th
the Urban Assault this Sunday sept 20th
or OCT 23 the fall Milwaukee Chill Ride and Brewery Tour.
We'd love to have you on any of these...

You're almost there, Phillip...the Chainlink's calendar has a ton of cool, bikey events:

Also, I feel our event listings are pretty good, too:

Hope to see you on the streets and trails!

Ethan, with Active Trans
I'll be cruising for Hookers on the Tall bike North Ave 2am. If I feel real good, I will cruise Broadway. After that I like to stop by under Fullerton and the Highway to ask Mary for forgiveness.
