AutoZone will charge it for free if you can get it out of the car.

Jump-starting is the same thing, you may just need to leave the jumper cables on for a few minutes with the good car running before attempting to start.

It takes them an hour or so to charge or tell you the batt is dead. If bad be prepared to spend  ~$100 for a new one. They will also loan you the tools to remove the battery if you dont have them for free with an id. Better you find a bad batt now than in Dec when temp is 20 below...

Be careful jumpstarting my upstairs neighbor ruined her car putting the cables on wrong buncha smoke and tons of burned wires were the end result. We had a beer to mourn her loss...

Yes, i have one. Where is your car located? My jumper pa k is in my garage in Logan Square. When ill have time depends in part on where the car is.

thanks for the offer. I took it to autozone lsaat night and left it.

I will check on it tonight. I suspect it's a scam to get  me to

buy a battery from them. the car is a POS and I don't want to

invest any unnecessary money into it. I live in West Humboldt Park

(Augusta and Kedzie). Maybe I will hit you up tomorrow for a charge......thanks again

No scam there, batterys die, due to weather, age, sulfate on plates, etc... If your car is a POS and you cannot afford a new battery (~100) you can go to any neighborhood tire shop and they have used ones (~25). As always, you get what you pay for...warranty, durability, quality etc

Or go to the evil Walmart.  They sell batteries cheaper than anyone else -and have a pretty good warranty on them too.   Only thing is you have to drive way out to BuFu to get a decent Walmart.   The only one in the city is scary-cray-cray.  The one way up on Touhy is fairly decent.
