The Chainlink

This could be a nice opportunity to welcome a visiting group to the city.  I got this e-mail through Chicago Cycling Club, but I wanted to share it with more people.

FYI - their planned arrival date (6/17) is a Friday, and their planned departure is Sunday 6/19.

Subject: Opportunity to Collaborate with Baltimore Cyclists
To: info@chicagocyclingclub.org

Hello,

My name is Nicole Lunardi and I am part of the 30 person 4K for Cancer cycling team.

This summer we are biking from Baltimore to Seattle in an effort to raise awareness about and education on cancer. We will be arriving in Chicago June 17th. We have a day off June 18th. University of Illinois is generously opening their doors to us and is letting us sleep in their dorms the two nights.

I am emailing your group for a couple of reasons. First to invite members of your group to ride out with us the morning of June 19h. We will be heading all of the way to Milwaukee. We love to have cyclists join us even if it is for the first little bit of the ride. It would also help us greatly if you have any advice about riding in and out of the city.

There is also another way to collaborate. We ask to have community dinners the night we are in town. If this is something your group might be willing to host, it is always nice to sit and share a meal with another group of cyclists.

Please feel free to look at this website to learn more about our organization.

Also please feel free to contact me via email or phone 781-640-5091.

Thanks,
Nicole Lunardi

We're currently discussing two ideas:  a possible potluck BBQ on Friday 6/17 and/or an escort ride on Sunday 6/19.  Stay tuned...
