You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.

There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.

I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!

I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.

Keep riding like a tard!

love,

gabe

Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

To the black Nissan that was driving northbound and passing cyclists on the busy LFP at 6:15p between Belmont and Recreation Drive, please take Lakeshore Drive next time.  "I got lost" is inadequate.

To the pickup truck going west on 18th blazing a left turn in front of me going eastbound in the bike lane: thank you for not stopping as I fell. Thank you for your polite usage of expletives aimed at me for biking in a dedicated bike lane. I hope when you rage stress pop a hemorrhoid or berry aneurysm you only take yourself out. So thank off, you thank wad. Thank me? Thank you. Now I must rage less before I pop a berry. : (
Hey I know that guy, I will pass along the love and have a chat with him about this.

To the "TAIPAN" license-plated, foul-mouthed idiot who blew the stop sign at the lakefront trail and Belmont Harbor and denied it when confronted ... GFY.

Unfortunately I must admit that I know that guy, too, and pretty well.  I will also have a little chat, and remind him that the cyclist that he hits could very well be me.

Thank you, Lisa and Tim.

Thanks to your acquaintance I learned that I can come to a stop sideways like a ski jumper at the bottom of the hill. My 225 pounds and 50 pounds of trike ended up perpendicular to the lakefront trail; if I had hit my brakes 1/2 second or arrived that split second later, I would now be roadkill.

His response to my shout was, "F**k you." When confronted he claimed he stopped at the stop sign which he did not, and his final words to me were, "Take that bike and shove it up your a**."

Whether or not he stopped or ran the stop sign is moot. I still had the right-of-way in either case, and he should have respected that.

His rude, boorish and I-am-right-you-are-wrong behavior is another matter.

He certainly needs a talking to.

I really hope they got off at Belmont. Otherwise they would have to take the LFP all the way to Belmont harbor drive by addison. Yikes!

Seriously, what kind of horrible excuse is "I got lost?"  I hope someone at least had a chance to call the cops and say there was some idiot on the path.

If it's right by the harbor parking out entrance, the driver could have confused the roadway with the LFP.  They are somewhat alike and run parallel to each other.  There really should be some signage regarding that since I've seen more than one car on the path when they meant to exit the parking lot and get on LSD.

Same thing happened Monday afternoon.  Upon closer inspection, it appeared to a be a car full of terrified tourists.

I totally forgot about this.

To these lovely gents with about 5 bikes stacked in the back and the oral cavity of a meth addict....thanks for waving and using the North Branch Trail to cut around traffic at Milwaukee and Devon by CUTTING THROUGH THE WOODS ON THE TRAIL.

The CCFPD police department has your plate and description.....

I think the big multiple person bike/car thingies they rent at Navy Pier is a whole lot more dangerous.  I had the unfortunate experience of fishing a fellow cyclist out of the lake by the Oak Street swim lanes when one of those things cut off everyone on the LFP, including some cyclists (myself in there) riding along.

Those bike sedans are so slow I've never found them to be a hazard.  I've seen cars get lost at Belmont Harbor and end up on the trail three times myself.
