You blew the red light east bound on Lawrence at Damen at 5:26 pm this evening.

There was enough time for the biker in front of me to make it half way into the intersection, northbound on Damen, before you came whizzing past my front wheel.

I yelled "You're an idiot!" at your big haired chick, self, and you looked back at me. I meant it!

I woulda testified for any of the cars, that managed to not kill you, if they had.

Keep riding like a tard!

love,

gabe

Witness bad behavior during your commute? Feel free to post. Maybe that lovely human can read it and think they are famous. Maybe you can also inspire the whole generation of kids to shower but we can start with small things.

Yeah definitely going to be more careful at night.
A lot of lessons learned on both ends I think ;)
Might even roll with the 2000 lbs objects ;)
Hardly any of them on the roads here at night;)
And they are generally more lit up and easier to see ;)

Was he wearing a Helmet?

But seriously I see people riding without lights and I cant see them and the LFT at night is terrible. I have a 300 lumens light so I can see when there's not enough light yet somehow people can't see me?

Hey everyone, been awhile since i been on here but i hadn't had a good missed connection.

Today i did at the Naked Ride After Party. Some tallish, bald guy with a beard threw a bottle at me and called me a c**t while I was on the Chaos Brewclub rooftop. Now because he doesn't throw very well he missed and it went towards a friend that was also on the roof but hit the power lines connected to the light pole near the garage then fell and almost hit people below.

Now i didnt call the cops cause im not a little bitch but with all those witnesses it woulda been easy and brought heat on the brewclub at the same time.

So if someone knows this tall guy with kinda a wannabe bravado kinda voice they should let him know he probably won't be so lucky in the future.

^ Oh boo-hoo, a bully almost got hit.
Hey admins, wasn't this guy banned from TheChainLink, like, repeatedly??
He was literally impersonating staff and harassing riders.

Except for me (i guess we're doin a victim shaming thing) almost getting hit by a bottle the rest of that didnt happen. But thanks for stopping by. (Witnesses make ur story tricky.

Personally, I am not a fan of anyone being called a "c***" because it is sexist and crappy. Nor am I a fan of bottle-throwing. I'm glad you are ok Gabe.

Andrew, I like you and it looks like you had a great time at Naked Bike Ride (nice security pic btw!) but I do have to correct a few things...

"The Chainlink" is the correct name :-) the "L" is not capitalized.

Nah, Gabe is not suspended and he wasn't suspended back when I took over. And in the 2.5 years I've owned it, he's done nothing to warrant suspension. I'm not talking to what transpired before I got here. There are things that happened and while I'm aware of some of it, I respect the moderators choices before I was involved (and very much respect them now).

I like you both. Feeling a bit awkward for this exchange. And, to me, this is what a "little bitch" looks like (again, really don't like sexist terms that put women down). And yes, total excuse to post a pic of my dog, Lily. Gabe, she's one tough cookie so don't underestimate little bitches.

That bottle was a can.  Multiple witnesses can verify.  Nothing that freakshow says can be trusted.  I understand, it can be hard deciding who to trust, an older man of deep honor who's committed to the Vulcan policy of never lying his whole life, or a younger punk who hijacked the naked ride's twitter a few years ago to tell all our followers they'll be roofied and raped while using the hashtag #imaterrorist

Looking to leave this inapplicable to this issue thread ASAP, but gotta wrap with I continue to be bewildered about why anyone keeps cutting him slack.  This wouldn't have even happened if he didn't keep coming every year to hassle our riders despite us asking him not to.  Not just no moral high-ground, but LITERALLY bald-faced sadism.  Dude, seriously, check-yourself, though you've long since wrecked yourself.

Gonna save myself the time of posting photos of him in a stolen ride safety vest and devil mask this year, or screencaptures of his twitter threats or of his party to fuck with the naked ride posted on TCL years ago.  Yeesh, get real.

So you don't deny that you chucked a bottle/can at the man?

What was the thought process of doing something so neighbourly?

Found on the Social Media. Be careful out there, folks. I've had more experiences than I'm comfortable with where drivers have actively tried (and stated as such) to kill me. I just leave 'em be now.

You: middle-aged het couple on hybrids wearing bike gloves on Damen, Saturday evening.

Me: minding my own business and riding downtown on my cruiser.

W, from behind left: "Hey, honey, we're gonna pass ya, is that cool?"
Me: Sure, thanks!
(W, M) pass.
As W passes: "Cute skirt!"
Me: thanks (ugh)
Stoplight ahead turns green while couple is loudly (drunkenly? unclear) chatting. I pass then and continue through intersection.
A few blocks later, W passes fast, followed by Dude, who yells, from behind: "Hey sweetie, on your left!"
At intersection ahead, both turn around to me. W says, "See? We beat you to the light!"
Me, incredulous: um, Great!
W: looking at me, getting flustered, "I was joking!"
Light turns green
Me, shrugging: I can't tell.
Dude visibly twitchy and aggro, exhales loudly.
Me: and besides, guys, the light is green.
Dude: "WELL YOU SHOULD WEAR A HELMET!"
Me: Yeah, because I need you to tell me what to do.
Dude, mumble-yelling while he stand-pedals as fast as he can to get away: "Helmet--stupid head--cars--run over"--etc.
W struggles trying to catch him, runs red light on right turn, both turn off Damen to Diversey.

Phew.

To the W: ditch the aggro, mansplaining jerk, and both of you: You're not funny or cute. Please leave people alone.
