I think that The 606 Trail has settled down to an acceptable bike trail ride now. We just did a sunset ride at a good enough clip and it was extremely enjoyable. If you have any time during this holiday, come on UP to The 606 and enjoy the ride! See you down the trail!

Happy 4th of July holiday to all Chainlinkers!
WOW ! The fireworks look great from up here !

Velomobile 'Mork', frequent and often in the am, is a 'DO' on The 606 Trail. You must have misread the "Miss Manners" article. Prilosec works great for me. Have a good one !

Rode the 606 last night from 8:30 to around 9:45.Beautful night, low 80's with low humidity. I made 3 full up and back passes. Very leisurely pace . Observations . TONS of people not paying attention, kids between 4-9 coming and going from everywhere. People enjoying their 420 moments. Great scenery . Multigenerational families walking 5-8 abreast. Overall, its an A to B trail, I enjoyed my ride.

what does "their 420 moment's" mean?

The 606 is worth the hike to Chicago. Article by Dan Moran.

Great Critical Mass Ride on the 606 tonight ! Any 606 newbie opinions ?

I think some of the shrubs are growing so fast on the North side of the trail that they need to be trimmed because they are now starting to cover the blue jogging path.

Rode the 606 on Thursday & Friday after work and wow, what a difference! The temperature goes down 10 degrees, we get a little wind, and half the Walking Dread disappears! If that's how they react to temps in the 50s, how many will be left when it's in the 40s? Very few, I imagine. And when highs are in the 30s, there will only be a few bike commuters, plus those guys who ride the trail back and forth (I can't call it a 'training ride' as they are under 20 mph), and the joggers. I expect the joggers to stay. They seem pretty committed.

Or has the weather freaked everyone out, because the change was so sudden? One day it was summer, then it got cold at the same time the sun started to set early (and after the Supermoon left). Saturday early afternoon, one woman huddled inside the train station to wait for the bus, instead of waiting outside, and wore a winter jacket. An aberration? Except several people waited inside the ramp area for the train, also. Did the TV weather people scare everyone again?

When I was on 606 on a weekday, I found it really nice - very few people out. Nice to hear the weather has cleared the trail and made it an enjoyable ride.
