Tannus Ultra Light Solid Bicycle Tires

The manufacturer claims;
Tannus solid core bicycle tires can withstand everything (glass, nails and sharp items) that would normally stop you with a pneumatic bicycle tire.This tire minimizes rolling resistances, and provides unprecedented safety.

Made from a special micro closed cell polymer resin "Aither", Tannus tires uses a foaming technology similar to that used in many lightweight sport shoes.

This tire now has the rolling resistance rate that closely matches pneumatic tires, taking this a step closer to the ideal bike tire. They are lightweight and will shave weight off your bike.

No tube - no punctures. Never worry again, just ride !

Got a 26 in for a MTB and 20 in for a folder.  Not too bad but does slow you down.

Oh wow!  Surely this solid tire will be better than the hundreds of solid tires that have come before and claimed to be superior to pneumatic tires!

Um, just to be accurate, the ad copy does not claim this tire to be superior to pneumatic tires. Disclosure note: I have not yet tried these tires but am keeping an open mind as an option for riding in the early spring when I get most of my flats because of the dirty/gritty/broken glass road/trail conditions.

Normally, you share articles with us so this is a little outside of what you normally post.

Maybe this is a new find? And if we borrow a quotation from a website, please be sure to add quotations or italics just so we know it came from another source (and please give them credit). I think that will also help clarify what is stated by the manufacturer/marketing team vs. what we are saying.

Just a general note to Chainlinkers: We really try to keep the forum as "commercial-free" as possible, limiting posts to recommendations for products we use or something that is an interesting new find. We don't allow posts promoting products and/or services because it's more advertisement than providing value to Chainlinkers. I'm not saying that is the case here. I am not sure the reason behind the post. Just seems like an appropriate time to send out the reminder.

Do you remember any of his points?

Ha! Funny and well said. Good to virtually see you Michael B. :-)
