I've got an old CCM frame that needs a little love thus I'm looking for suggestions on a shops or person to straighten this lovely frame and weld in new rear drop outs.

Thanks all!

Can you put up a picture of said frame?  I'm wondering what sort of frame is worth the sort of effort your willing to put into it.

Don't know about welding in new rear drop-outs, but Wastyn Cycles was able to check my frame alignment and bend back a derailleur hanger nobody else would touch. Truthfully, I brought it to them because it's a Schwinn and Wastyn made a name for themselves building Paramounts for Schwinn. They also said they could easily do cold setting and frame straightening.

Actually Emil Wastyn made the name as a six-day mechanic. Which entailed such things as replacing dropouts trackside. He was a good six-day mechanic in a sport that was then major league and global. The whole world of cycling knew Emil. Then they knew his son Oscar.

Also Owen at Blue City for frame repairs.

Actually, now that I think of it...is there anyone in Chicago that could add some water bottle braze-ons for me? About how much would that cost?

I asked him whether he could weld/braze a kickstand plate on my surly. He said yes, but wait time was a year.

the guy must be busy...

One more vote for Wastyn Cycles, they have worked and aligned many high end frames for me.  I have trusted them with cinellis, merckx, paramounts and never had any issues.

Thanks guys. Ill drag the frame out and see who can get it fixed up. I'm sure the wait will be long due to all the tune ups and new sales this time of year.

Haddon I'll post up some pics when I get the frame out of storage. Right now it doesn't look like much but you don't see to many 1941 CCM double bar motor bike frames floating around the US or Chicago so it worth the effort of riding it to a shop or two in order to save it.

Wow, things must have ramped up. He repaired some broken dropout eyelets for me last year, and had my bike back to me in under a week!
