Yesterday while I was working, my bike was stolen in the West Loop (Canal & Monroe). Its 2011 Giant Bowery 72- Red (Fixed Gear/Flip Flop Hub) - The bike has clipless pedals and several unique stickers (Labrabbit Optical, Lo Fi Supply and Chrome). It has black handlebars, its set as a fixed gear, sugino chainring and an Odyssey seat.

If you see this bike around, please buddy lock (lock another bike to it) it, call the police and message me. A police report has been filed so they will respond immediately. If the bike is recovered there is a reward. If you see it on Craigslist or anywhere else, let me know immediately!

Thank you so much for keeping an eye out!

It looks a little different in this photo, but its a basic idea

Sorry this happened; hope you are able to recover the bike!

Could you tell us how you had locked it?

Was there a forum disscusion on proper locking techniques we can refer people to? One of my favorite tips is putting a ball bearing inside hexhead bolts with hot wax to deter thieves from stealing stems and seatposts.

Here's one entitled "How to Not get your bike stolen!" from December 2011;

"Fun Facts: The Bike Theft Edition" from May 2011;

Probably a few others...
