There was blood, there was screaming. Another typical summer on the Chicago lakefront path has ended. The time has come to separate heels from wheels. Our plan is simple, and cheap. Along the busiest stretches between Museum Campus and North Avenue, there are many existing paths and pavement streches to relieve the overcrowding, they're just not being used effectively. Some signage and paint would go a long way. Check us out at http://www.safelakefront.org for more details and to sign our petition.

Lakefront Trail safety is a huge issue. This is a great example of one solution for some of the challenges. Active Trans will continue to work with the Park District to address concerns that our members and public bring to us.

To anyone who is interested, the quarterly Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Council meetings (usually posted on Chainlink), have representatives from the Park District.

Thanks,
Ethan, with Active Trans
