Robert McClory / Kenosha County Bike Trial to Kenosha Metra (Best Route?)

I'm thinking about riding the Robert McClory path north into Kenosha. The problem is the path ends about 3 miles from the train station.

Does anyone have a best route from the north end of the trail to/from the train station.

I can see a number of streets that would get me from point to point, but does anyone have any cycling experience with those roads?

Thank you,

Tom

Get off the Kenosha Trail with a right at 89th street, make another right on 17th when 89th ends, then a left when 17th ends at 91st.  91st ends at Sheridan Road next to the drive-in theatre, and 7th goes across Sheridan and toward the lake on a road with a marked bike lane through the Kenosha Sand Dunes.  Make a right at 78th street and you'll hit the lake and the roads and paths north to Kenosha will be apparent.

Set up Google Maps to see bike routes and it shows up nicely.

If you're in a hurry, save yourself a mile and do this instead.  I rode it awhile back and don't really like it on tour because it's industrial and not as fun.  Take 30th or go straight onto the street off the trail (take the trail to the end!), take a right on 52nd, right on 25th, left on 55th, right on 14th, left on 56th, left on 11th, and left on 54th. It's all street, so be mindful of traffic, but you can burn rubber as fast as you like.

....and by the way....most of the streets in Kenosha are pretty harmless if you avoid the major roads.

Thank you for the suggestions...

Tricolor's may take a little more time, but it seems to be the safer less auto traffic route.

Matt M. Thanks for the more direct route.  Is there any reason you would go straight all the way to 52nd st and make a right toward 13th ave then make a right to Metra?

Tom

Yeah.  It's faster.  I guess you're interested in the lakefront, and since it is a little safer, you should take that route.  Enjoy!

Should have said:

Changed would to wouldn't...
