I just want to say that it was my first Boulevard Lakefront Tour in 2005 that I consider my first real introduction to my city. I somehow managed to live here for 5 years (2 of those as a real grownup, even) before feeling that way. 

I hope the fact that the BLT isn't needed anymore means that there are still opportunities for newbies both to Chicago and to city cycling in general to have that kind of experience. Even those who may not be that new. Or even especially those who may not be that new.
