the doubter, hater, denier with whom the poem's protagonist is speaking is all wet.  "You thought I'd drive..." That person. That you. 

Is that a real person or is that a part of the speaker's self with whom he is having an inner dialogue? Maybe its John Kass or maybe its the protagonist's mother.  Hmm.

I also thought this was an intentionally bad poem posted. Riding in the rain is never advised? Wha....???

Well it was a bad day and I decided to write about it.
After the storms let up I continued home.
I went into a parking lot only to find it flooded.
I figured it can't be that bad and rode through it.
The water came up to the middle of my cranks.
Next area that was flooded I carried my bike overhead.
So I'm hoping all is okay.
