The Chainlink

This is a follow on to my previous question about prescription cycling sunglasses.

So I decided not to get prescription cycling sunglasses due to the cost.

Since I do have contact lenses, but can't READ when I wear them, I decided I would get "Reader" cycling sunglasses.

I've been looking for places that offer reader sunglasses ... and I've found three so far:

  • Dual Eyewear
  • Rudy Project
  • Tifosi Optics

I know Rudy Project is well known for their products ... although they only offer two reader models.

I just discovered Tifosi and their products are apparently available at some local shops, so I'll see what I can find.

Any recommendations, or other options, for reader sunglasses?

Currently I'm using a pair of reader sunglasses from that bastion of high quality optics: Dewalt (Yes, the power tool company).  They have reader safety sunglasses that are dirt cheap.  They work adequately, but they don't offer anything that is polarized and the optical quality isn't what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

I have a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that have readers.  Expensive but very good. I only got them because I had a large gift certificate to REI. http://www.mauijim.com/ho-okipa-reader.html The advantage is also a disadvantage. The readers are low enough on the field of vision that they never interfere with my sight lines when I am riding, playing disc golf or driving. However, when I use them to read, I sometimes have to push the glasses a bit higher on my nose so I am not looking so far down.
