I was wasting some time and decided to look up the prices of a used bike on eBay (Trek Pro series 560)...there were only two listed but then, dozens and dozens of bikes (not the Trek 560, but "aluminum bike" in purple, ornage, green.  As if the color was the most important reason for buying a bike.  So I wrote to the company/distributor, asking, "Who is the manufacturer?  Where are they made?"  and the answer I got was:

Sorry there is no name brand associated with this item. However please note if you are unsatisfied with item purchase you may return the item for a full refund within 30 days. "Create Bikes is a London based company which works completive, creatively and on an International Level."

"Breakset", "Break lever".

Many thanks - I fully understand that there is a place in the world for the Murrays and Huffys - I even sold a bike for 25.00 to a guy who just needed something to get to work, not a piece of fine art.  It was just the eBay site with bike after bike after bike and very little information about each one (which again, is all right if your uncle is clearing out his garage and he can't remember when he bought the old Schwinn Black Phantom)...but a distributor/importer should.  They even mix up photos of a bike with gears and the caption says it's a fixie. So what do you get in the mail?

I used to have an Oxford (British) English dictionary, now only the Webster - there ain't no such word as "completive" listed, International should be lower case, and other strange language useages (from their own website).

Maybe it was the young, cool folks dancing about on their bikes; I've never been cool.  Also, I check ed against Craigslist-Chicago and there were no listing for any Create bikes.

Definitely "buyer beware". I agree with you, information about the bike is so important so it's hard to imagine anyone would want to buy a bike with very little to go on.
