Protected Bike Lanes Receive Support from Federal Government

"If a local authority wanted to create a protected lane, there was no guidance from the federal government, which helps fund many projects, on the best, safest design specifications. The newly released Federal Highway Administration guide changes that, and makes it more likely that more cities will adopt the strategy. The guide provides images and ideas for new bike lanes, backed by two years of scientific research into the best options."
